Sydney sneaks into top 20 cities for start-ups

The 20 best cities for young entrepreneurs have been named in a new study.

San Francisco in the USA was considered the best, with a thriving start-up scene and low unemployment.

Meanwhile, Sydney snuck in at number 20 on the list for best business ecosystems.

Furnished apartment search engine Nestpick released the study revealing the top 110 cities for entrepreneurial millennials, based on factors such as start-up ecosystem and employment.

The results are released as part of the larger Millennial City Ranking, which Nestpick released for the second year running earlier in 2018. Nestpick conducted this study in order to pinpoint which cities are successfully attracting this generation of workers.

“Millennials grew up in a shrinking world, where the internet opened doors their parents never could have dreamed of, and budget airlines made those avenues real possibilities. It’s now possible to live and work anywhere in the world, and these opportunities are shaping how our planet will look to future generations,” said Ömer Kücükdere, MD of Nestpick.

“We must learn to adapt to the needs of younger people in order to have a thriving economy, and we believe that this ranking offers valuable insights to those cities looking for regeneration from a younger demographic.”

The table below reveals the top 20 cities for entrepreneurial millennials based on their Business Ecosystem:
