Juniper extends AIOps to WAN routing

Juniper Networks has expanded its AI-native networking platform to bring AI operations features to wide area network (WAN) routing.

The company has introduced enhancements to its WAN Assurance, Premium Analytics and Marvis Virtual Network Assistant products with AI-powered capabilities aimed at providing simple, seamless and secure software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) and secure access service edge (SASE) experiences.

These include extending Juniper’s digital experience twin solution Marvis Minis to SD-WAN. The solution seeks to improve network operations by diagnosing real authentication issues without requiring input from users or devices. For example, WAN speed tests can be continually run without users having to be present to verify link speeds and take proactive actions if required.

Juniper’s Dynamic Packet Capture solution has also been extended to WAN to allow network administrators to help identify and fix hard-to-find issues without the need for expensive and time-consuming site visits.

The company’s AI-native platform promises to be able to reduce operational expenditures for network operators by up to 85% in some instances across the entire networking footprint, Juniper said.

Meanwhile, Juniper’s Routing Assurance solution is designed to modernise the WAN edge with customisable service levels, by allowing network administrators to monitor, analyse and resolve issues identified by Juniper’s AI solutions across WAN Edge and peering locations.

Juniper VP for Product Development Sunalini Sankhavaram said with the expansion of the AI-Native Networking Platform, the company has delivered on its promise to build its AIOps capabilities across all enterprise network domains.

“Now embracing routing, these latest innovations enable simplified, fast assurance, monitoring, troubleshooting and issue resolution across multiple branch office, WAN Edge and peering locations,” she said. “We are also uniquely combining the security and networking domains operationally, enabling insight-driven, holistic security management and audit within the broader networking context, replacing silos with collaboration. All these new innovations further enable exceptional, secure user experiences for the enterprise.”
