Adelaide Festival Centre adopting hybrid cloud
The state government-owned Adelaide Festival Centre has contracted Optus Business to replace its existing IT infrastructure with a hybrid cloud platform.
Under the three-year contract, Optus Business will provide a platform making use of Microsoft’s Azure and Office 365 cloud services.
Optus Business will replace the centre’s in-house data centre as part of the project. Wholly owned Optus subsidiary Ensyst will mange the migration of the centre’s platforms, services and applications to the Microsoft Cloud, and will provide ongoing IT service desk support.
The overhaul forms part of the $1 billion Adelaide Riverbank Precinct upgrade, which will include a $90 million expansion of the Adelaide Festival Centre.
“We are excited to be working with Adelaide Festival Centre as one of the first government agencies in South Australia to adopt cloud services as its preferred option for IT sourcing,” Optus Business Managing Director John Paitaridis commented.
“The flexibility of the cloud platform will allow Adelaide Festival Centre to invest back into its business, focus on delivering great service to customers and drive business growth through digital innovation.”
Adelaide Festival Centre is operated by Adelaide Festival Centre Trust, a statutory authority that receives around 70% of its operational budget from ticket sales and around 30% from the South Australian government.
