Cloud contest partnership between Alibaba and Haymarket HQ
Alibaba Cloud and Haymarket HQ have partnered up on a cloud contest.
The two organisations are working to bring the Create@Alibaba Cloud global start-up contest to Australia and New Zealand.
Their collaboration will make use of Haymarket HQ’s network of mentors, investors and working space, as well as Alibaba Cloud’s technological expertise.
The winner of the ANZ contest will be invited to the global final, to be held in Shanghai on 13 October. At this event the participants will pitch in front of prominent global investors, gaining the opportunity to expand their networks beyond ANZ.
“We see a growing trend in the ANZ region of start-ups looking to engage with Asian markets. By partnering with Alibaba Cloud, one of the largest cloud providers in the Asia–Pacific region and globally, we are helping start-ups across the region explore new opportunities,” said Duco van Breemen, general manager of Haymarket HQ.
Start-up companies will be able to submit their applications from now until 31 August. The ANZ regional competition will take place at Haymarket HQ on 22 September.
Prizes on offer for ANZ start-ups include:
- Preferential access to the Alibaba Group’s first round of investment programs and recommendations
- Up to US$50,000 credit for cloud product resources from Alibaba Cloud
- A round-trip ticket to the 2017 CACSC Final in Shanghai
- Opportunities to receive training on scaling a business
- Direct access to well-known investors
- Complimentary access to co-working space at Haymarket HQ
