51% of APAC orgs at lowest level of multi-cloud maturity: research

A slim majority (51%) of APAC organisations are at the lowest level of hybrid, multi-cloud maturity, according to new research commissioned by Infoblox.

The survey conducted by Enterprise Strategy Group found that a higher proportion of APAC organisations are at this least mature level than the global average of 46%.

This disparity may be partly due to the fact that only 37% of APAC respondents to the survey report high levels of collaboration in their teams during cloud development initiatives, compared to 46% of those surveyed in the rest of the world. APAC respondents also reported lower collaboration during incident and outage management, at 36% compared to 42% globally.

But at the same time, APAC organisations are also slightly more likely to be leaders in adoption than the global average, at 14% compared to 11%.

The research also found that APAC organisations with a mature approach to managing hybrid, multi-cloud environments are 4.8 times more likely to report being able to restore services in minutes rather than hours or days, 2.2 times more likely to have significantly better cross-cloud visibility, and 1.6 times more likely to say their developers can push code on demand across all applications.

APAC cloud leaders also estimated a 20.5% reduction in cloud costs, reported around 25% fewer incidents of downtime or degraded performance, and were significantly more likely to be able to detect suspicious activities faster.

Infoblox VP for APJ Paul Wilcox said the research demonstrates the benefits of enhancing collaboration and adopting advanced DNS, DHCP and IP address management solutions.

“This research clearly shows that APAC organisations stand to gain substantial benefits easily by enhancing collaboration, adopting advanced DDI solutions, and leveraging DNS for security,” he said. “At Infoblox, we see the convergence of networking, security and cloud operations as a strategic imperative for businesses looking to thrive in the digital age.”

The research covered the Asia–Pacific markets of Australia, India, Japan, New Zealand and Singapore.
