Local drone tech startup launches in NZ
Australian drone technology startup Aerologix is taking its first step towards international operations, launching its platform in New Zealand.
The company positions itself as an ‘Uber service for drones’, using deep tech to support drone pilots and customers and connecting them based on the need for aerial imagery and data. It also sources and provides cutting-edge technology to enhance pilots’ workflow and ensure accuracy for clients.
New Zealand pilots are invited to register to work on a range of aerial capture projects including high-quality aerial footage and photos for social, events and marketing purposes, as well as enterprise solutions including asset inspections, technical imaging, digital twin development, terrain mapping and photogrammetry. Registration is via the Aerologix web or mobile (iOS and Android) app.
The company was founded by former Qantas pilot Tom Caska and IT expert Rakesh Routhu in 2019 and has grown rapidly from a few hundred pilots to more than 10,000. Established partnerships include the likes of Clean Up Australia and enterprise projects across a range of industry sectors including surveying, infrastructure, renewables, telecommunications and construction.
