SAP expands data partnership with Google Cloud
SAP has revealed plans to expand its partnership with Google Cloud to help build the future of open data and AI for businesses.
The expanded collaboration will include the launch of an open data offering combining the capabilities of the SAP Datasphere solution and Google’s data cloud.
The joint offering will enable businesses to view their entire data estates in real time and maximise value from their Google Cloud and SAP software investments.
The ability to combine mission-critical data from the SAP Datasphere and non-SAP data from nearly any other data source on Google Cloud will help organisations accelerate digital transformation, according to SAP CEO Christian Klein.
Data originating from SAP systems can contain critical information on supply chains, financial forecasting, human resources records and other valuable data. This will be combined with the capabilities of Google Cloud BigQuery to allow organisations to access their most critical data in real time without the requirement to duplicate data.
“Bringing together SAP systems and data with Google’s data cloud introduces entirely new opportunities for enterprises to derive more value from their full data footprints,” Klein said.
“SAP and Google Cloud share a commitment to open data and our extended partnership will help break down barriers between data stored in disparate systems, databases and environments. Our customers not only benefit from the business AI already built into our systems, but also from a unified data foundation.”
