Zscaler provides risk mitigation and policy enforcement for businesses through its in-the-cloud utility service. Users do not need to purchase, deploy or manage multiple point products.

Companies can define their corporate security control and compliance policy by accessing the Zscaler utility. The web traffic leaving the network firewall is redirected to one of the data centres in Zscaler’s global infrastructure and, based on the company’s policy, the traffic is blocked, throttled or allowed to access the internet.

As the browser retrieves the web pages, the system scans it for a range of malware threats and delivers clean traffic to the end user.

The gateways use the N+1 redundancy model — if one gateway fails, the next geographically adjacent gateway picks up its traffic, providing almost constant uptime. Each gateway can handle 250,000 transactions/s. Its Single-Scan, Multi-Action technology is designed to provide accurate application identification without introducing latency.
