The Hewlett Packard Enterprise HPE Vertica 8 big data analytics platform provides in-database analytics capabilities. It enables users to conduct sophisticated analysis at industry-leading scale and speed, regardless of where their data resides.

The product provides organisations with analyse-in-place, unified architecture that enables businesses to continually gain intelligence from their information. Organisations can use flexible deployment options across on-premise, private and public clouds, as well as in Hadoop data lakes, allowing them to choose where and how they run analytics.

According to the company, the product also includes core data movement and orchestration enhancements, resulting in up to 700% faster data loading for hundreds of thousands of columns, simplified data loading from Amazon S3 and comprehensive visual monitoring of Apache Kafka data streams.

Other features include in-database machine learning; applied machine learning algorithms that enable teams to natively create and deploy R-based machine learning models; analysis-in-place analytics on Hadoop, enabling users to securely access and analyse data that resides in data lakes without copying or moving the data; expanded multicloud capabilities and support; and an optimised Apache spark adapter, which enables fast data exchange.
