HP, Avaya sign cloud communications alliance
IT vendors HP Enterprise Services and Avaya have joined forces to provide communications services for enterprise customers.
Under the multiyear agreement, the companies will jointly sell a portfolio of unified-communications-as-a-service (UCaaS), contact-centre-as-a-service and infrastructure modernisation services.
HP will provide its cloud computing capabilities and Avaya will contribute its portfolio of UCaaS and contact centre products.
As part of the deal, HP Enterprise Services’ Business Process Services division will assume service delivery of a subset of Avaya Private Cloud Services (APCS), and will be taking on some APCS employees and contractors. But Avaya will retain its existing sales contracts and SLAs.
Avaya will meanwhile make HP Helion products and services a cornerstone of its cloud offerings to customers.
“This agreement reinforces HP’s commitment to the mobility and workplace market and helps to grow HP’s presence in the end-user space,” HP Enterprise Services GM Mike Nefkens commented.
“HP is also making an investment in Avaya’s capabilities to improve our contact centre infrastructure and significantly enhance business process services and customer engagement management. The partnership with Avaya supports HP’s larger vision for the New Style of IT.”
