Gold Coast HR company finds virtual PABX is the right connection

Based at the Gold Coast, Traxion is an HR and business services provider that needed to shift from operating with only a distributed workforce to a centralised office with field employees. Faced with the option of purchasing an expensive PABX for the new office, Traxion’s founder and Managing Director, Kate Baring, investigated the subscription-based Fonality Connect solution as an alternative to an on-premise phone system.

Fonality Connect is a cloud-based phone solution that can be delivered to any SMB with an internet connection. The virtual solution provides SMBs with access to advanced phone features previously reserved for large enterprises, such as in-house conference calls and the ability to unify multiple offices and home workers in one system. With a fixed monthly fee, free calls and no contracts, Fonality Connect also helps business owners reduce their monthly phone bills.

“For the provision of management services, such as virtual office and secretarial services, we needed a professional phone system; for example, to answer an incoming call in the client’s name,” said Baring. “However, traditional PABX systems are expensive to set up and maintain - we were quoted $3500 for the hardware alone.”

Traxion chose Fonality Connect to replace its separate non-PABX phone lines, because no expensive hardware is required upfront. In addition to being a more cost-effective solution for Traxion, Fonality Connect’s advanced features make a real difference to Traxion’s business communications.

“The web-based control panel enables us to customise services for our management services clients with a few clicks. Fonality Connect allows us to set up dedicated phone numbers for our customers or divert calls to their mobile phones,” Baring said.

“I was highly sceptical of the call quality, but since using the VoIP system I can’t even tell the difference to a traditional phone line,” said Baring. “Cost savings have also been a selling point. With Fonality Connect, we’re expecting to reduce our phone expenditure by 50%.”
