Access Networks and Communications (ANC), a provider of data centre services, has invested in additional capacity at the Global Switch Sydney data centre.

According to ANC, the move is to cater for growth in colocation and managed services.

“Our expansion provides companies that wouldn’t otherwise have the scale to gain access to Global Switch the ability to colocate in a premier facility,” said Glen Hastings, ANC director.

The tier 3 Global Switch facility is located on the edge of the Sydney CBD, and with on-site power-generation capacity of 34 MW, is claimed to be one of the largest data centres in the Southern Hemisphere.
