Don't miss Microsoft AI challenge deadline
Microsoft extended the Imagine Cup to younger students this year, launching the Imagine Cup Junior Artificial Intelligence for Good Challenge (ICJ). The company says its mission is to empower every student on the planet to achieve more by providing the tools and opportunities to learn new skills and be future leaders.
ICJ 2021 gives students aged 13 to 18 the opportunity to learn about technology and how it can be used to positively change the world. The global challenge is focused on artificial intelligence (AI), introducing students to AI and Microsoft’s AI for Good initiatives so they can come up with ideas to solve social, cultural and environmental issues. It’s also a great opportunity to encourage students to develop and practise 21st-century skills like communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity.
Registrations have closed, but educators, instructors, parents and guardians can submit applications for students. Submissions must be an original solution and can be created by teams of one to six students.
The challenge has been supported through a range of resources including webinars and hackathons, but the deadline for submissions is drawing very close. Teams have until Friday, 21 May 2021 to submit their entry, with winners announced Thursday, 10 June 2021.
