VEYA focuses on external challenges
The Victorian Early Years Awards (VEYA) celebrate leadership, achievement, dedication and innovation in early childhood learning.
Recipients are recognised across seven categories, including an individual award that honours Early Childhood Teacher of the Year.
This year, VEYA acknowledges the impact of ongoing bushfire recovery and the evolving COVID-19 pandemic. The challenges these events presented have had a clear subsequent effect on program delivery — something VEYA says should be considered and highlighted in nominations, as evidence of the resilience and determination so keenly celebrated within the sector.
Educators can self-nominate or put forward someone else within their organisation. Nominations for the 2020 awards close on 6 July and the successful winners will be announced in November.
