Avoid Android Enjoyed: NSW Fair Trading
Online retail gadget store Android Enjoyed again topped the NSW Fair Trading Complaints Register in April following a spike in complaints.
The online store received 78 consumer complaints in April, up from 50 in March and 45 in February. The increase came after a renewed warning from the NSW Fair Trading Commissioner against parent company Digital Marketing and Solutions.
The company’s other online retail store, Camera Sky, meanwhile received 34 complaints in April, up from 28 during the previous month, placing it second in the rankings of the number of complaints received.
According to NSW Fair Trading Commissioner Rose Webb, the office is considering taking further action against the stores as well as its parent company. She urged NSW consumers to stay away from the stores and continue to report problems faced while using them.
“These online businesses sell electronic products including digital cameras, mobile phones and smartwatches. If you are in the market for any of these goods, do not deal with Android Enjoyed or any of its associated companies,” Webb warned.
“We have received numerous complaints about the quality of goods sold, payment without supplying the goods and other Australian Consumer Law offences. When shopping online, consumers should always do their research before making a purchase. A quick search of independent customer reviews online can often be enough to show you which businesses to avoid.”
The NSW Fair Trading Complaints Register, published monthly, lists the businesses that are the subject of 10 or more complaints to the agency in a single calendar month. Real estate agency Ray White (24), Apple (21), Viagogo (21) and Kogan (20) rounded out the top five list.
