HPE's new Adelaide office will create over 400 jobs

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has opened a new office in Adelaide, in a move expected to create over 400 technology jobs in the state.

The new office will represent the newly spun-off HPE in South Australia. HP has had a presence in the state since 1967, and the new facility builds on this.

Speaking at the opening of the new office, Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science Christopher Pyne said HPE is also helping support the state’s workforce in other ways.

The company is involved in an ongoing collaboration with the state government and the University of South Australia to co-author a four-year ICT honours degree, which launched in January.

“We want to see more businesses working closely with our universities and science and research institutions to drive innovation,” he said.

“Having international technology companies like Hewlett Packard located in Australia has never been more important as we continue to build a digital economy.”

HPE was formally separated from parent company HP at the start of the month as part of a turnaround plan announced in October 2014.

HPE has inherited the company’s software, cloud, data storage and analytics product portfolios, while HP retains the company’s traditional printer, laptop and consumables operations.
