Irish trade mission brings tech firms to Australia

A delegation of 32 Irish technology vendors is visiting our shores this week to promote their products and services to Australian companies.

The companies include those serving the enterprise and government, healthcare, financial services, e-learning, HR, healthcare, IT and travel sectors. Travelling with the delegation is Ireland’s Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton.

Some companies involved in the trade mission have taken the opportunity to announce contract wins with Australian organisations.

HealthComms announced a new contract for software-as-a-service suite MyHomeReach with Melbourne non-profit aged-care provider Catholic Homes. The rollout is expected to commence this month.

LEI Group Australia, the Australian subsidiary of Ireland’s The Leading Edge Group, has meanwhile signed a deal to provide its lean training programs for The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne.

The contract will involve delivering a suite of training programs to a cross-section of the hospital’s staff in association with the Australian Healthcare & Hospitals Association (AHHA).

According to Irish industrial development agency IDA Ireland, the country’s ICT sector includes over 200 companies employing around 36,000 people. Together, the companies represent around 22% of Ireland’s total exports.
