Nominations open for #TechDiversity Awards

Nominations are now open for the inaugural #TechDiversity Awards, a new program that aims to celebrate real champions of diversity in the digital technology sector.

The awards will recognise those who have shown leadership and embraced inclusion by promoting diversity initiatives and programs in their workplace.

#TechDiversity, a Victorian industry alliance, has recently gained momentum in its endeavour to increase the participation of women and minority groups in technology by forming a formal committee appointing 13 members who represent Australian industry organisations and businesses, including the Australian Computer Society (ACS), Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) and Optus.

#TechDiversity is now seeking nominations for individuals and groups who have demonstrated diversity leadership across one or more of four key awards categories, including education, business, government and advertising.

The judges will be looking for outstanding expressions of behaviour, initiatives, commitment and courage, which are considered key touchstones to embrace inclusion and drive diversity.

A #TechDiversity ‘leader’ will be recognised from each of the four awards categories, which will be announced in early July.

These leaders will be recognised at the #TechDiversity gala dinner, to be held at Melbourne Town Hall on 4 August, along with an overall #TechDiversity ‘champion’.

You can submit nominations for the #TechDiversity Awards at https://techdiversity.awardsplatform.com.

Nominations close on 26 June.
