Sitback Solutions named Sydney Business of the Year

Website and user experience (UX) developer Sitback Solutions won three awards at the 2016 Sydney City Regional Business Awards last night, including the overall Regional Business of the Year.

The Rocks-based company started as a one-man operation in a city basement and has now grown to employ 37 full-time staff, serving some of Australia’s largest businesses.

Sitback Solutions also received the Employer of Choice and Excellence in Business awards at the ceremony.

Sitback CEO Chris McHugh said the company was especially thrilled to receive the Employer of Choice commendation.

“Being a good place to work means we are able to attract and maintain the best staff, and in turn offer the best quality service and experience for our clients. We consider this crucial to maintaining great client relationships in the fast-paced tech environment,” he said.

The Sydney City Business Awards were launched in 2015 as part of the NSW Business Chamber Business Awards. They are supported by the City.

This year 40 businesses were shortlisted across 12 categories, and nine companies came away with awards.

“There are thousands of amazing businesses in our city and these awards are a great opportunity for us to recognise some of the most innovative business and showcase their achievements,” Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore said.

“Small to medium-sized businesses are at the heart of the city’s economy, representing 85% of our businesses and contributing an estimated $20 billion to the local economy.”
