Applications open for DTA Graduate Program
The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) has started the hunt for recent ICT graduates interested in joining the Australian Public Service in 2018.
Applications for the 2018 Australian Government ICT Graduate Program opened on Monday. The program will be open to graduates who have completed an ICT degree in the past seven years.
The DTA will also open applications for its ICT Apprenticeship and ICT Cadetship programs in June.
The former program is open to anyone who has completed year 12 or the equivalent and is looking for support while studying and working within a government agency, while the latter is available to university students looking to work part time while completing their degrees.
More than 1000 graduates, apprentices and cadets across 35 agencies have started their career with these programs since 2006, Michelle Norris, director of the Australian Government ICT Entry Level Programs, said in a blog post. In 2017 the agency helped integrate 144 talented ICT professionals into the APS.
But Norris warned that competition will be fierce, with the department receiving more than 1500 applications across the three programs each year.
