Box, Google aim to transform work in the cloud

Enterprise content platform provider Box has teamed up with Google with the goal of transforming work in the cloud.

The companies have announced plans to add integrations between Box, Google Docs and Google Springboard.

The integration will allow Box to act as a third-party content repository for Google Docs, Sheets and Slides.

Box users will be able to create and edit Google documents, spreadsheets and presentations directly from the Box platform, allowing them to take advantage of Box’s in-built productivity features, such as task management and workflow automation.

Customers will also be able to use Google Springboard’s integrated search functionality to seek content stored on Box. Springboard is designed to allow businesses to quickly search for information stored across the Google Apps suite as well as supported third-party apps.

“At Box, our mission is to transform how people and organisations work. The combination of Box’s enterprise content platform with Google’s world-class cloud technology will help businesses of all sizes unlock productivity across their organisations,” Box co-founder and CEO Aaron Levie said.

“New, simple and powerful connections between Box, Google Docs and Google Springboard are just the beginning of how Box and Google can power better ways to work in the cloud.”
