Changi Airport Group launches metaverse experience
Changi Airport Group, the company that manages the Singapore Changi Airport, has opened its own location in the metaverse.
The company teamed up with Accenture to launch the ChangiVerse, a virtual experience being developed on Roblox, the popular online game platform and creation system.
ChangiVerse is a digital representation of the physical airport that will allow visitors to access activities and social experiences organised around the airport’s landmarks, such as its indoor waterfall at Jewel and outdoor dinosaur display attraction at Jurassic Mile.
The project is part of the group’s efforts to revolutionise traveller and visitor experiences. The collaboration builds on the partnership between Accenture and the group to develop and launch new digital products and services.
Hung Jean, SVP of Changi Airport Group’s Enterprise Digital Ecosystem & Business Division, said the company believes that the metaverse presents opportunities to boost customer acquisition, engagement and brand loyalty.
“With ChangiVerse, we want to strengthen Changi Airport’s position as more than just a transport node, but a fun and magical destination where memories are created,” he said.
“With our customers becoming more digitally savvy and interacting in the digital space, ChangiVerse is also about engaging our customers and serving them better through innovation and experimentation, in line with our belief of customers being at the heart of everything we do.”
