Moneydirect is first hosted managed services customer at Polaris Data Centre
Moneydirect, a provider of multi-channel payment solutions for the travel industry, has signed NEC Australia as its global hosted managed services partner. Moneydirect will lease capacity in NEC’s infrastructure at the Polaris Data Centre in Springfield, Queensland.
NEC Australia opened its hosted managed services facility at the Polaris Data Centre in July this year. This facility is part of the company’s services strategy to focus on the delivery of co-location, managed services and cloud-based offerings, alongside other key business priorities.
The facility will host the entire Moneydirect suite of applications for all international markets. This includes applications for supplier payments, traveller payments and online fee collection for travel agencies.
According to James Filsinger, CEO, Moneydirect: “As an online payments processor, security, reliability and speed are vital to our business, which is why we’ve selected NEC’s infrastructure at the tier 3 data centre, which is among Australia’s most advanced facilities. NEC’s managed services offer Moneydirect all the benefits of an experienced hosting partner, as well as a state of the art facility that will enable Moneydirect to be compliant with payment security standards such as PCI DSS.”
“Polaris will provide Moneydirect with greater redundancy and enormous capacity, which match our business development plans. With 8000 customers in nine countries and with more than US$2bn processed in online travel payments annually, NEC’s managed services and infrastructure within Polaris creates a dream facility,” said Filsinger.
Features include: purpose designed and built, Tier 3+ facility for safety of sensitive information; dual fibre redundant, high-speed internet backbone connectivity to ensure that payments are processed efficiently to meet the needs of customers; and Sscalable, redundant power and cooling capacity which gives Moneydirect the ability to only use the infrastructure it needs and to easily increase this as the business expands.
