Orro acquires NW Computing
Orro has announced the acquisition of Melbourne-based cloud specialist NW Computing, rounding out its customer offering for the growing business.
NW Computing is one of Australia’s leading managed services providers, with an ethos to help businesses understand and make use of emerging cloud technologies. By designing, implementing and supporting best-practice public cloud solutions for its clients, NW Computing has established a prominent position in the IT industry.
Founded by Nathan Wright in 2006, the NW Computing team consists of more than 50 employees, and services a wide range of customers across Australia and New Zealand. The acquisition of NW Computing will complement Orro’s portfolio, delivering robust public and private cloud services to customers.
As an industry leader in public cloud knowledge and execution, Nathan Wright will take up the role of Chief Technology Officer, Cloud, taking on a key strategic role within the business. For Orro, this acquisition marks a full circle moment, with NW Computing rounding out the company’s current customer offering.
“We are thrilled to be joining forces with NW Computing,” said Rodd Cunico, Chief Executive Officer at Orro.
“Under Nathan’s leadership, the business has become an established force in cloud services, and we look forward to his contribution to the Orro business. The acquisition strengthens our versatile offering across cloud, cybersecurity, networking and unified communications, leveraging Nathan’s experience and his team’s expertise to position Orro as a leader in both public and private cloud solutions.”
Joining the robust cyber and network capabilities of Orro, the expansion of cloud contributes to the ongoing growth strategy of the business, following the $150 million funding investment from Macquarie Capital earlier this year.
“After knowing and working with much of the Orro team over the years, we are thrilled to be joining this powerhouse team,” said Nathan Wright, Managing Director at NW Computing.
“Understanding the synergies of NW Computing and Orro, I am confident that our customers will only benefit from this acquisition as we explore the impact of our new partnership.”
All NW Computing staff will be retained, joining the Orro team across Australia to deliver cloud expertise and experience to Orro customers.
