ServiceNow launches Australian digital skills bootcamp
ServiceNow has announced a commitment to providing digital skills training to 1000 Australians by the end of 2022 in response to the nation’s deepening skills crisis.
The company has developed several initiatives aimed at meeting this target, including a free intensive digital bootcamp that will commence this month.
The digital skills bootcamp is open to recent graduates and other working-age Australians interested in joining the technology industry — even those without previous technology experience or educational qualifications.
Running over nine weeks at 40 hours per week, the bootcamp will have 100 places. It is the third program to be launched by ServiceNow’s NextGen training initiative in Australia.
The program includes instructor-led classes, hands-on projects and careers skills training, with successful participants receiving certifications as a ServiceNow Certified System Administrator and Certified Application Developer.
According to research from technology recruitment firm Nelson Frank, the average Australian salary for junior ServiceNow Administrators and ServiceNow Developers is $90,000.
ServiceNow ANZ VP and Managing Director Eric Swift said programs like this are sorely needed in Australia.
“The data is clear: Australia has a critical shortage of digital skills. Every day, I hear from our customers and partners that attracting skilled talent is a top priority. By broadening paths into the tech industry, this commitment will help build the nation’s tech talent pool,” he said.
ServiceNow plans to take a second intake for the bootcamp in October, with more to come next year.
