SolarWinds launches next-gen observability suite
Observability and IT management software provider SolarWinds has launched the next generation of its SolarWinds Observability solution.
Available in both self-hosted and software-as-a-service (SaaS) configurations, the next-generation platform is said to offer new and expanded capabilities including broader on-premises infrastructure monitoring of critical server components such as bandwidth, availability and response time.
The updated solution also offers expanded AWS, Azure and Kubernates cloud infrastructure observability, as well as more comprehensive network performance, traffic flow and path analysis.
SolarWinds has also added support for a wider range of SD-WAN solutions, including Fortinet, Meraki, Viptela, VeloCloud, Prisma and Aruba Silver Peak, as well as built-in intelligence and AI-assisted IT service management capabilities. In addition, users are now able to start with a self-hosted solution before trialling and adopting the SaaS solution with a few clicks, eliminating the need for a rip-and-replace migration.
SolarWinds SVP of Product Cullen Childress said the next-gen platform has been designed to close the hybrid visibility gaps that IT practitioners and leaders have been complaining about.
“They’ve told us they’re struggling to find a solution that provides the level of visibility they need over both their on-premises and cloud-native ecosystems. SolarWinds is ending their struggle today,” he said. “With SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted, customers can observe their on-premises and cloud workloads from a single pane of glass. Similarly, with SolarWinds Observability SaaS, they can observe their cloud-native workloads and still observe their on-premises infrastructure.”
Childress said some customers have reported benefits from adopting the new platform including a 60–80% decrease in issue resolution times.
