Telstra launches industrial automation suite
Telstra has launched a range of new industrial automation solutions designed to help solve some of the pressing challenges facing Australia’s heavy industries, such as mining, construction and manufacturing.
The new suite of services combines capabilities from consultancy Telstra Purple’s recent industrial solutions acquisitions, Aqura Technologies and Alliance Automation, as well as Telstra’s networking solutions including 5G, fibre and IoT technologies.
The solutions span private networks, IoT, IT and operational technology convergence, cybersecurity, analytics, cloud and edge, and professional and managed services.
Telstra Enterprise Group Executive David Burns said the company’s ambition with the new initiative is to work hand-in-hand with businesses to help solve complex problems such as heightened security risks, managing legacy systems and grappling with technical skill shortages.
“When people think of Telstra, they often think about networks. But we're so much more than that now. Over the past few years we’ve built a holistic ecosystem of highly specialised Industrial automation capabilities,” he said.
“This means we can now offer an end-to-end service to help businesses maximise the potential of Industry 4.0, and tackle the unique challenges and opportunities that each customer faces as they embrace it. We want to help make smart industry simple.”
