Zipline Cloud platform launched in UK
A start-up company backed by the NSW Government is about to launch its new email and messaging platform in London.
Zipline Cloud has achieved rapid growth in the Australian market, and its launch will take place in partnership with Salesforce and Accenture.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Small Business John Barilaro said Zipline Cloud has received a $100,000 Building Partnerships grant from the NSW Government-backed Jobs for NSW to develop and market its product.
“Zipline Cloud is a NSW innovation that has been built from scratch by founder Alex Colvin into a successful company,” he said.
“Jobs for NSW has been there from the start with Zipline, having earlier provided the company with a $15,000 grant to develop its technology.
“We need to support people in NSW who are prepared to develop an idea into a business as they are the growth engine of new jobs.”
Zipline Cloud CEO and founder Alex Colvin said the company was now adding two staff members a month to cope with the strong growth of the business.
“We are now in the process of our first Euro push. London is our first port of call and we will have resources on the ground there by the end of the year, but the core engineering team will always remain in Sydney,” said Colvin.
The company has 22 enterprise clients in Australia in all states across the telco, finance, health and construction sectors. It provides intelligent communication paths on any customer relationship management platform globally.
“Our commercial goals are to secure three global blue chip brands by the end of Q2 and to continue the R&D activities to further develop the product,” said Colvin.
He said the Jobs for NSW support had been extremely helpful in developing Zipline Cloud’s technology and taking it to market.
“The Jobs for NSW support enabled our health services product to commercialise 12 months earlier than scheduled. It also helped us form a strong bond with other suppliers because of the financial support.
“It gave us credibility with customers and enabled us to hire new staff earlier than what we would have without it, which subsequently increased the capability of the business.”
