Kogan to offer nbn services next year
Online retailer Kogan.com has become the latest company to sign up to launch fixed-line nbn services via agreements with Vodafone Hutchison Australia.
Under the agreements, Kogan.com will launch fixed-line nbn services in 2018 as well as mobile broadband plans in 2017.
Kogan.com provides prepaid mobile services as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) on the Vodafone network, through the brand Kogan Mobile. MVNOs operate mobile services over mobile operators’ networks.
Kogan Mobile contributed around 4.2% of Kogan.com’s gross profit for the six months ending in December, and the company’s gross profit increased 50% sequentially in 3Q17, making it the company’s fastest growing business unit.
The agreements extend the partnership between Kogan.com and Vodafone for a further four years until 2022, with options for rolling two-year extensions. Kogan.com will provide branding and marketing services for mobile, mobile broadband and nbn plans over Vodafone’s network and nbn connection.
“The launch of nbn services is a major opportunity for Kogan.com,” Kogan.com Executive Director David Shafer said.
“With a brand that has built a reputation for price leadership through digital efficiency, a huge online audience and a data driven and analytical culture, Kogan.com is well poised to offer and grow a market-leading nbn service. Most importantly, we will be offering extremely competitive plans that save Aussies more of their hard-earned money.”
