Accenture buys Australian security firm Redcore
Global professional services company Accenture has arranged to buy Australian security consulting provider Redcore for an undisclosed sum.
Redcore specialises in providing identity and access management (IAM) services, as well as security services for the cloud, public key infrastructure, applications and the IoT.
The Melbourne-based company’s multifactor authentication and security application gateways are now used by some major Australian banks and government agencies. Redcore also has companies in the health, retail and telecom industries.
Redcore was founded in 2010 and has expanded to cover multiple offices in Australia, India, New Zealand, the Philippines and Singapore.
Accenture Security Managing Director Kelly Bissell said the company plans to use the acquisition to expand its existing suite of IAM services and security-as-a-service capabilities, while gaining a deeper foothold in Asia–Pacific.
“Redcore has a team of seasoned security leaders who have exceptional security skills and industry knowledge,” she said.
“Together, we will be better positioned to tailor intelligent security services to organisations’ unique businesses and industries and deliver innovative solutions that help build business resilience from the inside out.”
“With Accenture’s extensive global security resources, its methodologies and its interdisciplinary security ecosystem of innovators from across the world, we will be able to rapidly advance Redcore’s capabilities and innovate leading-edge solutions for clients, as well as provide excellent opportunities and career paths for our employees,” Redcore co-founder Joseph Failla added.
