Crowdstrike forges alliance with Fortinet

Cybersecurity companies Crowdstrike and Fortinet have announced a strategic partnership aimed at delivering enhanced endpoint and firewall protection.

Under the collaboration, AI-native endpoint security from the CrowdStrike Falcon cybersecurity platform will be integrated with Fortinet’s FortiGate line of next-generation firewalls. The companies say the combination will provide joint customers with rich telemetry across endpoint and network to allow security teams to tackle challenges such as the need to improve detection and response times.

The Falcon platform takes an AI-native and adversary intelligence response to endpoint security, while Fortinet’s FortiGate firewalls are available in hardware, software or software-as-a-service form. The addition of FortiGuard security services will provide users with improved threat detection performance.

Canalys Chief Analyst Jay McBain said the collaboration will be mutually beneficial.

“Two of cybersecurity’s leading companies partnering, each with a world-class channel ecosystem, creates a powerful combination that benefits everyone involved,” he said. “The CrowdStrike and Fortinet partnership is a win for customers, who gain access to a multi-layer network and endpoint security, and a win for partners, who now have even greater opportunities to deliver value and drive growth.”

Crowdstrike Vice President for APJ Channel and Alliances Jon Fox said the strategic partnership will bring together two best-of-breed solutions.

“Organisations face a threat landscape that is constantly increasing in speed and sophistication, which is why a multi-layer approach to security is vital,” he said. “With this integration between CrowdStrike and Fortinet, organisations gain critical telemetry data and visibility across their applications, endpoints and networks — all in a streamlined single view — to help them stop breaches.”
