CyberCX acquires Insomnia Security
Melbourne-based CyberCX has acquired New Zealand cybersecurity specialist Insomnia Security, becoming the largest trans-Tasman cybersecurity company.
CyberCX recently entered the New Zealand market, and has revealed plans to invest more than $30 million in the market as part of its expansion to the nation. The acquisition forms part of this plan.
As part of its commitment, CyberCX also plans to increase its workforce in the nation to more than 100 employees in the next year and open an office in Christchurch in addition to its offices in Auckland and Wellington.
CyberCX CEO John Paitaridis said with the acquisition CyberCX can provide a complete range of security services across the two markets, including managed security services; risk and compliance; incident response; penetration testing and assurance; security integration and engineering; consulting and education services.
“Insomnia Security provides CyberCX with a significant enhancement to our security testing expertise and a major boost to our trans-Tasman capability,” he said.
“The Insomnia Security team has a global reputation, specialising in offensive security testing services. With a customised client-focused approach, Insomnia Security identifies key cyber threats and works strategically with organisations to contain cyber threats before they become a serious breach.”
Insomnia Security was founded in 2007. The company is headquartered in Auckland with an office in Wellington.
