Cysurance to offer cyber insurance to Sophos customers

Risk mitigation company Cysurance has launched a cyber insurance program for customers of partner Sophos in Australia. The offering covers first-party incident response, business interruption, digital data recovery, cyber extortion and third-party liability costs due to threats including ransomware and social engineering.

It is available to Australian clients using the Sophos Managed Detection and Response and Sophos Endpoint offerings, which are designed to offer protection against financial losses from various cyber incidents.

Customers of Sophos MDR will be able to bypass additional application and underwriting processes by instantly pre-qualifying for discounted policies. Sophos customers will also benefit from a streamlined application process and reduced insurance costs. Under the arrangement, in the event of an incident, customers will first be offered Cysurance’s extended ransomware protection. If this protection is exhausted, the cyber insurance will cover additional remediation expenses up to the policy limits.

Local brokerage support for the offer is being provided by the Howden Broking Group to ensure customers can access assistance and guidance throughout the process.

Sophos Australia Managing Director John Donovan said the offering has been designed to cater to evolving threats.

“As the threat landscape continues to increase in complexity most organisations can’t manage cybersecurity on their own and neither should they have to. This is why MDR has become an essential requirement for organisations to ensure they have the best defences to protect themselves,” he said. “Cysurance recognises this and the value that Sophos’s 24/7 threat detection and response experts provide to mitigate cyber risk. Cysurance’s discounted insurance offering for Sophos customers is a testament to Sophos’s MDR capabilities and the effective security services we provide.”
