DigiCert announces speaker line-up for quantum summit

Digital security company DigiCert has announced the speaker line-up for an event the company is holding to mark World Quantum Readiness Day on 26 September.

The virtual event will include a host of quantum and cryptographic experts from across business and academia, who will offer strategies to help organisations improve their preparedness for the quantum era.

Speakers will include Peter Shor, Professor of Applied Mathematics at MIT and author of Shor’s Algorithm, and cryptographer, entrepreneur and “father of SSL” Dr Taher Elgamal, as well as quantum technologist and Futurum Group practice lead Bob Sutor. Also appearing will be Cisco Head of Quantum Research Reza Nejabati, IBM Quantum Safe Services Leader Arfan Sabar, and Cryto4A co-founder and CTO Jim Goodman.

Rounding out the list are SandboxAQ GM and cryptography expert Dr Marc Manzano, Accenture MD for Emerging Technology Security Tom Patterson, Deloitte Global Quantum Cyber Readiness Leader Colin Soutar, and NIST Cryptographic Technology Group Chief Andy Regenscheid.

DigiCert CEO Amit Sinha said quantum computing is already transforming the landscape of digital security.

“We are excited to help organisations prepare for the security challenges a quantum future presents,” he said. “We are thrilled to bring together such an esteemed group of experts to share their insights and help guide the industry toward a more secure quantum future.”

Also at the event, the winners of DigiCert’s 2024 Quantum Readiness Awards will be announced.

The winners will be selected by a judging panel consisting of RSAC Chair Hugh Thomson, NIST National Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence Project Lead Bill Newhouse, PQShield CEO Dr Ali El Kaafarani, TechStrong Group CEO Alan Shimel, Thales Director of Alliances for PQC Blair Canavan and DigiCert’s own Industry Technology Strategist Tim Hollebeek.
