Tenable launches autonomous patch management tool
Tenable has launched a new autonomous patch management solution aimed at helping customers minimise their exposure to cyber threats.
Tenable Patch Management has been developed in partnership with autonomous endpoint management company Adaptiva. The solution pairs autonomous patch functionality from Adaptiva with Tenable’s vulnerability coverage, threat intelligence and prioritisation functionality with the aim of helping organisations more rapidly address the most impactful vulnerabilities in their networking environments.
A recent report released by Tenable found that only 11% of IT and cybersecurity leaders believe their organisations are efficient at vulnerability remediation, with organisations frequently exposed for long periods of time. Meanwhile, the average time between the discovery of a vulnerability and its exploitation by malicious actors has shrunk from 32 days to just five.
The company says that Tenable Patch Management allows teams to control when, how and where a patch is deployed. Features include automated patching with customisable controls and approval management capabilities, automatic validation of implemented remediations, and the ability to monitor compliance status to align with company policy.
Tenable Chief Product Officer Shai Morag said the company’s approach to patch management is designed to keep security teams in the driver’s seat.
“Organisations can accurately remediate exposures, streamlining the time from discovery to remediation all while in full control,” he said. “The combined power of Tenable’s market-leading identification and prioritisation and Adaptiva’s innovative autonomous patch functionality enables enterprises of all sizes to close the gap between security and IT and free up team resources to focus on the threats that matter most to their business.”
The solution is available as an add-on to Tenable One, Tenable Vulnerability Management, Tenable Security Centre and Tenable Enclave Security.
