Tesserent expands NZ services, appoints new senior partner
Australian cybersecurity company Tesserent has announced an expansion of services in New Zealand, the opening of its new entity and the appointment of Hamish Soper as Tesserent New Zealand’s senior partner, overseeing the expansion of Tesserent’s additional services in the region. Following its acquisition of Lateral Security, Tesserent is now expanding Lateral Security’s footprint and providing the full depth and breadth of Tesserent’s cybersecurity services in New Zealand to complement the advisory and assurance business that Lateral Security has established in the market.
Soper joins Tesserent following his previous role for more than a decade as New Zealand country manager for Check Point Technologies. Kurt Hansen, Co-CEO of Tesserent, said Soper will driver growth and service expansion in New Zealand, drawing upon his extensive experience with a career in cybersecurity spanning 15 years.
“His broad industry experience and skills will be an asset to supercharging our enhanced service provision in New Zealand and bringing the full capabilities of Tesserent to enterprise clients and all levels of government in New Zealand to help secure their digital assets. We welcome him to the team,” said Hansen.
Soper will work closely with Lateral Security founders Ratu Mason and Nick von Dadelszen to further build on Tesserent’s growth ambition in New Zealand. Tesserent and Lateral Security have offices in Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch, with a team of more than 25 security practitioners. As part of the growth strategy, Tesserent will be seeking new clients and key alliances as well as actively seeking to hire more cybersecurity professionals in the region.
“I am excited to join Tesserent in this key phase of expansion and look forward to working with our New Zealand customers, partners and strategic alliances to provide unparalleled cybersecurity services at a critical time for New Zealand, as the scale, sophistication and velocity of attacks continues to reach new levels,” said Soper.
Tesserent strives to become the sovereign cybersecurity provider of choice for the protection of Australian and New Zealand digital assets. Tesserent partners with over 1000 enterprise, government and critical infrastructure clients to provide products, services and strategic advice including cybersecurity and consulting, security advisory (governance, risk and compliance), technical assurance and testing, security integration and development, network and cloud security, identity and access management, managed services and monitoring, digital forensics, incident response and converged/physical security.
