Verizon Business expands global SD-WAN portfolio
Verizon Business has expanded its global SD-WAN portfolio in partnership with Fortinet.
The new Verizon Software Defined Secure Branch service is designed to provide enterprise customers with a converged networking and security solution for securely connecting hybrid and remote workforces.
The service uses Fortinet Secure WAN, which integrates SD-WAN, firewall and advanced routing. This security-driven networking solution delivers quality of experience at any scale and enables consistent network and security policies.
It incorporates with common network transport layers including MPLS, internet and wireless and offers additional SD-WAN and security functionality.
Verizon Business CRO Sampath Sowmyanarayan said the service has been designed to accommodate growing threat landscape associated with the new world of remote work. According to the Verizon Business 2021 Data Breach Investigation report, phishing attacks increased by 11% this year, while attacks using ransomware rose by 6%.
“The pandemic created a seismic shift in the way we live, work and play. For businesses, the quick transition to hybrid and/or remote working models opened new avenues for cyber threat actors,” Sowmyanarayan said.
“Solutions like Verizon’s Software Defined Secure Branch with Fortinet add those layers of security that help safeguard your employees, your business and ultimately your customers against cyberattacks.”
