D-Link 10-port DGS-1100-10MP and 26-port DGS-1100-26MP surveillance switches
D-Link has expanded its family of Power over Ethernet (PoE) switches with two models, the 10-port DGS-1100-10MP and 26-port DGS-1100-26MP, specifically designed for surveillance applications for home and small businesses.
The DGS-1100-10MP is an entry-level smart switch that delivers up to 30 W on eight PoE ports with a total power capability of 130 W. The DGS-1100-26MP by comparison provides 24 PoE-enabled ports, with a total power capability of 370 W, with all PoE-enabled ports supporting up to 30 W each at the PoE+ standard. Both switches allow connections to more PoE devices, such as VoIP phones, wireless access points or network cameras, simultaneously within a network.
Featuring a significantly extended PoE budget, the switches offer a 6 kV surge protection on all PoE ports, simple switch and network monitoring via a dashboard and automatic IP camera detection. They also come with automatic network topology detection and surveillance traffic optimisation. The automatic detection of surveillance traffic means video streams receive secure and high-priority forwarding, which avoids lost frames and video distortion.
The dashboard, designed to be IP camera specific, also gives access to diagnostics and error management. Both switches have fibre uplink ports and support ERPS for failsafe and instantaneous (sub-50 ms) recovery options. Plug-and-play installation options are also available when installing, and come in either a standard mode for IT professionals or a simple surveillance mode for non-IT professionals.
