The HP ProCurve Threat Management Services Module is a multifunction security solution, designed to install directly into HP ProCurve 5400 and 8200 series switches.

Integrating multiple high performance security features into the gigabit switch chassis, the module includes stateful firewall, Intrusion Prevention and VPN capabilities. The solution integrates with HP ProCurve's wireless solutions, to provide threat management services across both wired and wireless networks.

The module includes firewall features such as zone based access policies, NAT/PAT, and automatic configuration options for specified applications. Intrusion detection and prevention features allow administrators to finely tune automated responses, with different levels of response able to be triggered based on the severity of the threat.

The VPN functions of the module simplify deployment of IPSec and L2TP. Organisations can set up secure point to point IPSec tunnels to link branch offices, while allowing teleworkers and mobile users to securely access corporate systems via remote access IPSec VPNs.
