Veeam Software Availability Orchestrator disaster recovery engine

Veeam Software has announced Veeam Availability Orchestrator, a multihypervisor disaster recovery (DR) orchestration engine allowing organisations to be ‘always on’. It enables enterprises to execute, test and document DR plans. 

Data protection and disaster recovery are important areas for improving availability as unplanned IT outages can greatly cost organisations. While many enterprises have plans in place, they can be complex and cumbersome, which means they are often difficult to execute, as well as untested and outdated. The product, however, provides orchestration of Veeam backups and replicas through a defined disaster recovery plan, non-disruptive testing, automated documenting, updating and reporting. This enables modern SLAs for data and application recovery to be met, reduces costs, eliminates manual processes and is designed to satisfy compliance requirements.

Available later this year, the product is designed to work with Veeam Availability Suite and Veeam Backup & Replication, and licensed per virtual machine (VM).
