The EnGenius EAP9550 wireless N multifunctional access point/universal repeater/WDS device with a smoke detector design is able to blend into various environments, making this model suitable for hotels, schools, cafes, public common areas, as well as enterprise environments and high-throughput and high-distance applications.

The device is claimed to deliver up to 6x faster speed and 7x extended coverage than 802.11g. Its 300 Mbps wireless speed is suitable for large file transfer applications from advanced engineering to videoconference meeting; supports the network with good throughput, performance and wireless range. Wireless performance is adjusted by engineers to provide optimal wireless range and speed for each client.
