Tandberg Data’s 1 TB RDX cartridge, for use with the company’s RDX QuikStor disk-based removable storage system, is claimed to be a first for this capacity. Other RDX cartridge capacities include 160, 320, 500 and 640 GB.
The 1 TB RDX cartridge will allow users to back up an entire server onto a single cartridge, ensuring that their data is fully protected, for instant availability or off-site safekeeping.
The RDX QuikStor’s portable cartridges offer rugged, reliable and convenient backup, suitable for the SMB market. They combine the benefits of tape - reliability, portability, archive life - with the performance, speed, random access and ease of use of hard-disk technology.
The cartridge, used in conjunction with the company’s AccuGuard deduplication software with a typical 20:1 deduplication ratio, allows users to back up 20 TB of raw data on a single pocket-size cartridge.
