The HTC One A9 smartphone has been added to HTC’s One A9 family. The device combines a striking polished design — available in Carbon Gray, Opal Silver, Topaz Gold and Deep Garnet — with the features of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The lightweight smartphone has a 5″, 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4, Full HD AMOLED screen that cascades into a thin metal frame. A 13 MP rear camera featuring Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) automatically minimises hand shake and corrects vibrations, while the front UltraPixel camera delivers good picture results in a variety of lighting conditions, which the company claims uses HTC’s UltraPixel sensor to capture 300% more light than conventional smartphone cameras.
The device also comes with a range of editing tools, such as Hyperlapse that speeds up videos to 12 times for a dramatic time-lapse effect, and good audio quality through HTC BoomSound, Dolby Audio surround technology and a built-in DAC that delivers audio at 24-bit and 192 KHz quality.
The product also features ‘doze’, which turns off applications that drain the battery when the phone is left idle, while the phone’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and AMOLED screen are optimised to maximise battery life. It is available in both 16 and 32 GB configurations with expandable memory, supporting up to 2 TB in SD card storage.
