Livescribe has announced that the Livescribe 3 smartpen will support Android devices early this year. The Livescribe+ app, currently available only for iOS devices, was designed from the ground up with Android users in mind. The app will be released for select Android devices with KitKat v4.4a and above or Lollipop 5.0, and Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) support. The Android version will include the key features already in the iOS version of the app.
Livescribe+ will include key features of the iOS version of the app, including the ability to transfer notes from Livescribe 3 smartpens, search handwriting and convert it to digital text. Customers can also create and play back pencasts that synchronise audio recordings with handwritten notes, and share their notes in standard PDF format. Any Livescribe 3 smartpen can save notes to both an iOS and Android device so customers have all their notes wherever they need them.
