Panasonic Toughbook 20 detachable laptop
Panasonic has launched the Toughbook 20, a rugged detachable notebook designed to provide versatility for mobile business computing including emergency services, government, transport and logistics, mining and gas, defence and field service.
The slim and lightweight (1.76 kg) device features six usage modes that make it suitable for a range of business uses. As well as being used as a traditional laptop, the device can also be detached to be used as a tablet or flipped 180° to show content in presentation mode. The convertible mode allows users to see the display with the keyboard attached and ready when it is needed. Using the built-in handle, the device can operate in carry mode or hanging on a wall, while vehicle mode provides full functionality and operation of the device when on the move. It also has a glove-enabled touch screen and purpose-built vehicle mount and desktop port replicator.
Built with a magnesium alloy case and IP65 and MIL-STD 810G rated design, the device also offers a variety of business interfaces with customisable options. It comes with Windows 10 Pro and is powered by 6th Generation Intel Core vPro processor technology. Other features include: a 10.1″, 10-finger capacitive multitouch WUXGA screen (1920 x 1200 pixels); IPS panel technology providing good viewing quality for tablet users working outside, with 800cd/m2 brightness; and hot swap capabilities for users to switch batteries whilst still in operation.
