Rugged handheld mobile computer
The Intermec CN50 rugged handheld mobile computer comes with ultra-high-speed processing power, 3G wireless network speeds and a longer battery life.
As standard, the 3.75G wireless WAN technology is included, delivering faster data transfer speeds over the 3G network which supports both voice and uplink and downlink data exchange. The quad band WAN flexible network radio allows configuration for either CDMA or UMTS wireless networks so you can choose the network that provides the best geographic coverage.
The multi-processor’s dedicated ARM and DSP processors deliver near instantaneous response of on-device applications, all at the lowest levels of power consumption, the company claims.
The standard battery will last a full shift’s use in most applications without needing to be recharged. Initial tests have shown that the device can operate for up to 25 h straight while completing regular bar code scanning functions. An IP54 rain- and dust-resistance rating has been awarded to the CN50 and with a drop specification of 1.5 m onto concrete making it a combination of damage-resistant and lightweight functionality for ‘hold and carry’ activities. With a standard battery installed, it weighs 310 g but still operates reliably in harsh workplace environments.
Other standard features include: Automated rotating display, bright 3.5" QVGA screen, 3 MP colour camera, 1D and 2D barcode imager, Windows Mobile 6.1, 350 Mb of free user memory for user applications and documents, support for voice and speech recognition applications and GPRS, Bluetooth, WWAN and USB connectivity
