Sony has added the RX10 III to the Cyber-shot RX line-up. The high-zoom camera features a 25x super-telephoto zoom lens with a focal range of 24–600 mm.
The camera is able to produce high-quality content at various focal lengths and camera settings that would require three or more larger and heavier lenses for an interchangeable-lens camera user. Equipped with a 1.0 type stacked 20.1 MP Exmor RS CMOS sensor with DRAM chip and advanced signal processing, the camera also comes with a powerful BIONZ X image processor to ensure the highest possible image quality throughout the entire zoom range. It can offer 40x slow-motion video capture at up to 960 fps, a fast Anti-Distortion Shutter with a maximum speed of 1/32,000 s and high-resolution 4K movie shooting.
The product comes with upgrades compared to previous RX10 models, including triple lens rings for focus, zoom and aperture for direct, precise control. The hand grip shape has been optimised for the high-magnification, large-aperture lens to enhance stability when holding the camera at eye level. There is a focus hold button on the lens barrel as well, allowing the focus to be easily locked on a subject while the shooter reframes the image.
