Sony has released three Xperia models — the Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium. The Z5’s camera is based on Sony’s 1/2.3 Exmor RSTM-for-mobile 23 MP sensor and f/2.0 G lens, with a fast (0.07 s) autofocus and Sony’s SteadyShot with Intelligent Active Mode for video.
The standard Z5 has a metal frame and frosted glass back with a 5.2″ display. The Compact has a 4.6″ display. Both have capless USB for quick, efficient connection and charging. An integrated fingerprint-sensor power button means each device is easily unlockable with a simple pick-up and press in one movement. It will also support the FIDO standard for authentication via fingerprint for online payment services. The Z5 and Z5 Compact are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, featuring octa-core CPUs, 64-bit capabilities and 4G LTE speeds.
The Z5 Premium is a 4K smartphone with a 5.5″ 4K TRILUMINOS display for mobile and IPS, with four times the resolution of full HD. It is powered by the Snapdragon 810 processor and has a high-capacity 3430 mAh battery with quick-charge capability. It comes with 32 GB of internal memory, with the capability to take a 200 GB external microSD card.
