A Cloud Guru raises $46.8m for global expansion
Melbourne-based start-up A Cloud Guru (ACG) has raised US$33 million ($46.8 million) from US and Australian investors to support its ongoing global expansion.
The company has closed an equity investment round led by US-based Summit Partners, along with Australia’s AirTree Ventures and an existing investor, Elephant Venture Capital.
ACG plans to use proceeds to expand its core business of providing online cloud computing training and talent development solutions.
Specifically, the funds will be used to accelerate ACG’s hiring in Australia, expand its educational content library with specialised courses and labs taught by expert instructors, and to build new features for enterprises looking to reskill their workforce for the cloud era.
“We are humbled by this level of support from our investment partners,” A Cloud Guru co-founder and CEO Sam Kroonenburg said.
“We are eager to continue building our engineering, content and go-to-market teams to support our customers and partners. We are now even better positioned to help more businesses and individuals learn to cloud.”
ACG said since its launch with a single cloud certification course in 2015, the company has helped more than 850,000 users across 186 countries acquire various cloud skills and certifications. In May last year, the company launched ACG for Business, a learning management and talent development platform designed to help businesses reskill their workforce and accelerate cloud adoption.
