Google Cloud Assured Workloads GA available in Australia
Google Cloud has announced the general availability of Assured Workloads in Australia. The solution allows customers in Australia to run regulated workloads in Google Cloud regions, making it easier to achieve and maintain compliance. The offering enforces data residency for customer data at rest to two cloud regions in Australia (Sydney and Melbourne).
The update also introduces Google Cloud’s new Assured Support service, giving customers access to support provided from five countries — Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
“We are committed to providing our customers with the tools they need to confidently leverage cloud capabilities while maintaining the highest standards of security and regulatory compliance," said Brian Senior, Director of Public Sector at Google Cloud Australia.
“We maintain a range of key certifications in Australia, and now with local availability of Assured Workloads and Assured Support Services, we are making it easier for our customers to run regulated workloads in the cloud and adhere to compliance requirements.”
Both Australia Regions and Assured Support meet the requirements of the Australian Government’s Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) and the Hosting Certification Framework (HCF), which is administered by the Australian Government’s Digital Transformation Agency.
